Also, use a few practical rules for defining eyebrow geometry with threads. A few basics are:

 

  1. Proportions and symmetry – eyebrows should have the appropriate width and length to match the shape of the face. Symmetry adds harmony and aesthetics.
  2. Shape – facial features and the client's preferences play a significant role here. Strive for harmony between naturalness, fashion, style, and taste.
  3. The upper apex is a key element influencing the overall aesthetic of your eyebrow styling. You need to ensure the upper apex is well-balanced and not too bold. A balance between the upper and lower parts of the eyebrows is also crucial.
  4. Coloring – it's important to achieve the most natural effect possible, regardless of how you style your eyebrows, such as with henna or dye. You, as a stylist, must match the eyebrow shade to your skin tone and hair.

Determining eyebrow geometry with threads – how to do it correctly?

You already know that properly defined eyebrow geometry is essential for the styling to meet the client's expectations. However, what should such geometry done with professional threads look like? The rules are simple.

 

  1. Eyebrows are formed by two geometric shapes – a rectangle and a triangle. These two shapes combined create a simple eyebrow diagram.
  2. Facial features and the appearance of the eyebrow arch are the priority when determining eyebrow geometry.
  3. The correct eyebrow length is 2/3 from the beginning to the apex and 3/3 from the apex to the tips.
  4. The starting point of the upper edge cannot be closer to the center of the face than the point of the lower edge. In practice, it should be about 3-5 mm further than the point of the lower edge.
  5. The lower edge of the eyebrow from the beginning to the lower apex must be parallel to the beginning and the upper apex.
  6. The upper apex must be perfectly above the lower apex – NEVER OTHERWISE.

 

The additional tip of the eyebrow should be slightly higher than the beginning. This opens the eye optically and avoids the risk of a so-called sad face effect. By following the above tips, you will be able to create perfect eyebrow geometry using thread.

Eyebrow threads – why are they so important in eyebrow styling?

Remember that high-quality eyebrow styling tools and the ability to use them are the basis for proper styling and determining eyebrow geometry. A few tools a stylist needs include a caliper, a self-adhesive ruler for maintaining eyebrow proportions and symmetry, and a plastic ruler.

Another essential tool is black or white dye thread. Using this thread, you can draw horizontal and vertical lines that will allow you to create a preliminary drawing. This is a key step in the styling process, which translates into the final styling results.

Using the eyebrow geometry thread, we can precisely determine the so-called zero point—the center of the forehead, nose, and Cupid's bow at the mouth. Next, we draw three vertical lines, namely the apex and the tip of the eyebrow. The next lines, marked with the pigmented thread, run from the tip of the eyebrow to the beginning of the corner of the eye. Then, we draw horizontal lines to determine the points of the lower and upper edges, as well as the upper apex.

Only with this eyebrow geometry will you be able to analyze the current appearance of your eyebrows and determine how to modify them to achieve the best styling results.
